Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will raise money for congressional hopeful Marjorie Margolies on October 31.
Freshman state Representative Madeleine Dean (D-Jenkintown) will host the event. She made the announcement through an email from the Margolies campaign. She said she supports Margolies to replace Allyson Schwartz because she will work with Republicans to stop gridlock.
“That’s why I’m excited to open up my home to supporters just like you on October 31 for a special fundraiser for Marjorie – and a very special guest: former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.”
Albright was President Clinton’s Secretary of State from 1997-2001. Margolies’ son and Clinton’s daughter Chelsea are married.
In order to attend the fundraiser, guests must donate $250 to the Margolies campaign.
Margolies is running in a crowded primary to replace Allyson Schwartz in the PA-13. This week, campaign finance reports revealed that Margolies raised more campaign money than any of her Democratic opponents.
