Mango Releases Vision for Pennsylvania

Republican Gubernatorial candidate Paul Mango released his plan for Pennsylvania if he becomes Governor.

Called “Restore the Dream” the plan is Mango’s vision for Pennsylvania going forward.

“Pennsylvania voters deserve to know where their candidates stand and what they hope to accomplish.  Voters deserve more than just politics as usual, 30-second soundbites that lead to more gridlock, more inaction, and more mediocrity.  We can do better, and together, we will,” Mango said.

According to the Patriot News, the plan calls for eliminating property taxes, school choice, and restructuring government, especially making the Governor the head marketer of the state and creating new revenue streams through public-private partnerships.

Releasing the plan will help Mango gain some statewide name recognition through earned media.  It can also help him stake out positions early in the race.

Mango is currently running against State Senator Scott Wagner (R-York) in the race.

  1. It’s about time we have a governor who
truly cares about the people as a whole and not one group over another !!! #MangoForPa

  2. Paul’s business plan has covered solutions to Pennsylvania’s major problems and has addressed solutions. Overtaxation, healthcare, he clearly has a positive vision and the business and military experience to get Pennsylvania back to being one of thr most thriving states. His bisiness plan presented the plans and solutions. He is the person we need for Pennsylvania, the person with a positive solutions to turn things around.

  3. It is time for a change in Pennsylvania and I’m supporting Mr. Mango. He is on point with the matters that are in need of change in our great state. I see more and more of our youth moving out of state. I think Mr. Mango has the credentials to make these changes. He has a plan already and is a proven business man. Not to mention the fact that he proudly served our country. Our veterans definitely are not getting the support they deserve under Mr. Wolf.

  4. Paul is an innovator with sound solutions and the conviction to back them up. His fresh ideas to create jobs and repair our crippled state’s economy are among the reasons I’m supporting him. He has a proven history in solving health care issues around the world, so if he feels there is a better route to take with health care I’m for it. It will take every Pennsylvanian to get these goals accomplished, and Paul is person who will work with everyone, listen to her/his ideas, and derive a plan to meet every need.
If you’re a critic, I suggest going to one of his events and actually meeting him. You will find a receptive man eager to listen and learn from you.

    1. I’m open to fresh ideas and giving him an honest listen. But what are his fresh ideas?

School choice? Objectively, it would fail a majority of students as has happened in other states. Also not sure how we can eliminate property taxes while redistributing funds from public to private schools.

I haven’t come across these fresh ideas from either him or Wagner, unfortunately. To what are you referring? I’m ready to get to work on a ground game I can get behind.

  5. Mango receives a 10 out of 10 for in my book for producing a a comprehensive plan to restore the Commonwealth. It’s about time we have a Governor with a vision and leadership qualities to

  6. Economic growth from a proven economic driver. Dealing with the opioid epidemic, vets issues, decentralizing state government. What is not to like. Thus guy is miles above his competition in experience, education, backround, and his plan is far more developed. Did wolf pay you all to come comment hete. PA cronism is dead. #Vets4Mango

    1. I’m interested in learning about “decentralizing state government.” What is his plan to do so? How, why, and are there examples of this working elsewhere? What does that mean for our state’s schools, hospitals, healthcare etc? I’d love to learn more about it please!

  7. Being the adult in the room is usually not the most popular position but a necessity. About time we have someone man enough to stand up and say what the dreamers don’t want to hear. Tighten that belt and stop the gutting in Harrisburg, Paul.

  8. Why would he propose a plan to “supposedly” eliminate property taxes in exchange for higher income taxes and a higher sales taxes (and on more items like clothes) ALL being run thru Harrisburg with the loss of local control. If put on the ballot….this plan would fail.

  9. Mango said he supports continuing protections for patients with pre-existing conditions and for coverage of “every citizen who is truly vulnerable” who doesn’t have the means to pay for it….And despite criticisms about the plan to scale back federal funding increases for Medicaid, Mango said Pennsylvania could “make it work.”

He would continue Medicaid Expansion under ObamaDon’tCare; this is virtually disqualifying, particularly noting his healthcare background.

    1. First his wellnes initiative is unlike any proposal ive ever seen from a candidate. Prevention is the key to turning the tide. Your myopic view is indicative of bias and motive. We dont need repair men. We need new baseline standards of health that reduce spending across the board, and continue to reduce overall costs over time. He is the only one saying this. He is also the only one providing meaningful proposals for our opioid and veterans health issues. M.D.s have only made them worse by coping out for a paycheck from big pharma. Post solutions or Ill just assume your a cronys crony.

      1. rescind ObamaDon’tCare, do NOT expand Medicaid, rescind McCarran-Ferguson yielding intra-/inter-state insurer-competition, block-grant to empower states….

          1. I responded to your challenge [“Post solutions or Ill just assume your a cronys crony”]; regardless, he appears not to want to rescind the Medicaid expansion and, thus, should not be supported [other things being equal].

  10. Oh sweet Jesus – the same right wing propaganda buzz words we’ve been hearing for 30 plus years. Tax the rich, stop corporate welfare, rebuild the roads and bridges, provide for a good, adequately funded public education system and stop with the wet dream that the rich should gain all the wealth while the middle class stays stagnant. Mango – you’re dream is just a nightmare.

    1. He has made education reform one of his highest priorities. More options for charters, iep’s and moving away from standardized rubrics and testing. Also who employs the middle class???
