MAYOR CALLS ON RESIDENTS, BUSINESS OWNERS, COMMUNITY LEADERS TO ATTEND IMPORTANT PUBLIC MEETING

Sent 10/22/2010 @ 12:53 pm
Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today announced that he will be holding a public meeting at 1 p.m., Mon., Oct. 25, at City Council chambers. The Mayor has called this meeting in order to have an open and public discussion about the legislation City Council preliminarily passed to issue irresponsible debt.

“City Council is about to make a final vote on one of the most important issues our City has faced – yet we’re left wondering, what happened to the public process?” Ravenstahl said. “Because Council has not shed the light on the details of their plan to issue irresponsible debt – I will. I encourage residents, businesses and community leaders to attend this very important meeting about Pittsburgh’s financial future.”

The City Council meeting will air live on the City’s cable channel. The Mayor has also encouraged the attendance of City Council’s legal and financial advisors who helped craft the Debt Plan.
