On July 1st, Romney for President released a video profiling the decline of the Allentown Metal Works factory as a result of President Obama’s failed economic policies. Yesterday, in a direct rebuttal of the video and Romney’s recent visit to the city, Allentown mayor, Ed Pawloswki, strongly refuted Romney’s statements during an appearance on MSNBC’s The Ed Show.
In the the candidate’s campaign video, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney stated, “I could assure voters, that if I were President of the United States, I would spend every waking moment doing what I could to get Americans back to work. I would focus my energy and passion on the economy and getting Americans good jobs.” However, on The Ed Show, Mayor Ed Pawloski had some harsh words for Romney while also defending the President’s economic policies in both Allentown and throughout the nation.
“I don’t know where Mitt Romney is getting his statistics, but he better start getting his facts straight,” Pawlowski stated. He continued by emphasizing that under President Obama, the United States has experienced an increase in 238,000 manufacturing jobs since 2009. Mayor Pawlowski confidently reiterated, “The region as a whole is one of the fastest growing regions in Pennsylvania. It has a decline in job loss. We are about 8.4% lower than the national average.”
As Pawlowski and other officials offer their two cents in support or opposition of presidential candidates, Pa continues to look like a battleground state for 2012.

I just added this webpage to my feed reader, excellent stuff. Cannot get enough! I also share that site at Facebook 🙂
Come on PA Democrats lets all get our stories straight.
An excerpt from our Democrat Senator’s Facebook Page:
Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr.
Since 2001, Pennsylvania has lost almost 300,000 jobs in the manufacturing sector and many of those jobs have been lost because of one-way NAFTA-style trade agreements. More robust TAA help for workers should be passed before debate begins on the trade agreements. If not, Pennsylvanians will be the losers here.
