Meehan: Lentz Campaign Bailout Tour Continues

Meehan: Lentz Campaign Bailout Tour Continues

Liberal House Democratic Whip Jim Clyburn holds fundraiser for Lentz in Philadelphia

DREXEL HILL, PA – Less than a week after liberal former DNC Chairman Howard Dean comes in to prop up Bryan Lentz’s faltering campaign, Lentz welcomed House Majority Whip and third-ranking House Democrat Jim Clyburn for a fundraiser last night.  These two events come just months after other high-profile visits from national Democratic figures such as Steny Hoyer, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.

“Washington Democrats have invested huge amounts of time and money into getting Bryan Lentz elected,” said Bryan Kendro, Meehan for Congress campaign manager. “And it’s no wonder why: Nancy Pelosi needs Bryan Lentz to rubber stamp her big-government policies.”

Clyburn’s visit comes just days after the Cook Political Report, a nationally-recognized political handicapper, moved the race here in the 7th District from “Toss-Up” to “Leans Republican”. Clyburn has donated at least $14,000 to Lentz’s campaign so far, and Lentz has received over $80,000 from House Democrats.

“The writing is on the wall for Bryan Lentz’s faltering campaign,” Kendro continued. “Political analysts across the country are beginning to realize that Lentz’s campaign is a lost cause, but liberal Democrats continue their desperate bid to bail Lentz out.”
