Meehan: Lentz Panics; Launches Desperate, Negative Ad

Lentz Panics; Launches Desperate, Negative Ad
In Act of Desperation, Lentz Misleads Voters in First TV Ad

DREXEL HILL, PA – Bryan Kendro, campaign manager for Pat Meehan, issued the following statement following the release of Bryan Lentz’s first negative television ad in the race in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.

“Trailing in money and trailing in the polls, Bryan Lentz runs from his record as the tax and spend liberal that has endeared him to the hearts of Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat liberal elite in Washington,” said Kendro.  “Actions speak louder than words, and this is yet another example of Bryan Lentz’s deceptive and misleading campaign rhetoric not matching up to his voting record in Harrisburg.”

— On the final adoption of last year’s state budget, Lentz voted again to increase state taxes by $1.7 billion, including raiding the state’s Health Care Provider Retention Act to pay for increased spending in Harrisburg.  (HB1531, Printer’s No. 2747)

— Lentz voted just last year to allow Philadelphia to increase its sales tax by one percent costing everyone who shops and makes purchases in the City more than $200 million in new taxes. (HB 1828, Printer’s No. 2638 of 2009)
