And so it begins.

With party conventions taking place in the southeastern collar counties, Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer claims the most votes among committee members in Delaware, Montgomery and Chester counties in his quest for Pennsylvania’s Attorney General.

“I am deeply honored to be the overwhelming choice for Attorney General among Democratic Party members in southeastern Pennsylvania” said Stollsteimer. “As I talk to Democrats, it’s clear they want an AG candidate with a proven record of fighting for economic and environmental justice, protecting a woman’s right to reproductive freedom, reforming our criminal justice system, and reducing gun violence. I am that candidate.”

The trio of counties, along with Bucks County, make up a significant voting bloc outside the city of Philadelphia and have played a key role in helping elect Democrats statewide for nearly two decades.

Stollsteimer received 65 percent of the votes cast in Chester County, while pulling down 61 and 59.5 percent in Delaware and Montgomery counties, respectively. The campaign noted that large contingent backing the Delco DA in a race that features four other candidates on the Democratic side – former Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, former Bucks County Solicitor and federal prosecutor Joe Khan, former head of Philadelphia’s public defense lawyers Keir Bradford-Grey, and Rep. Jared Solomon (D-Philadelphia).

York County District Attorney Dave Sunday and Rep. Craig Williams (R-Chester/Delaware) are the candidates on the Republican side.
