New Boockvar Ad: Fitzpatrick is a Bad Fit (Watch Video)

How do you beat an incumbent who’s well known and well liked in his district? Stick to his votes. That’s exactly the message of Democrat Kathy Boockvar’s clever new television ad, which casts incumbent Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick as an ill-fitting shirt.

“Mike Fitzpatrick might have seemed like a good choice, but he just doesn’t fit us anymore,” says an announcer against comical music. “In Washington, Fitzpatrick gives tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs. Fitzpatrick fights to defund Planned Parenthood. And his votes on Medicare put Pennsylvania seniors at risk.”

“Kathy Boockvar is a better fit. She’ll fight for our jobs and our families.”

Fitzpatrick served as Bucks County Commissioner from 1995 to 2006 and served one term in Congress in 2006. He won back his congressional seat in 2010, but has term limited himself and wouldn’t seek re-election in 2016. He’s also a cancer survivor.

With a profile like that, the “Fitzpatrick is a bad guy” approach probably won’t move too many undecided voters. But Boockvar’s “Fitzpatrick has made bad votes” approach might.

Boockvar is less well known in the moderate 8th district, where she works as an attorney. She ran for Register of Wills in 2007 and for Pa. Commonwealth Court in 2011, but lost Bucks County (which comprises the bulk of the congressional district) both times.

The race is considered Democrats’ top pickup opportunity in Pa. in 2012.

“Mike Fitzpatrick has been ranked as one of the most independent Members of Congress,” said Fitzpatrick Campaign Manager Faith Bender, “while Boockvar will support policies like the failed stimulus bill which sent millions of dollars overseas to outsource jobs in China.”

She pointed to an article from factcheck.org which showed that $2.6 million in stimulus went to China.

your lawyer based upon whether or not you think she or he will be perfect.

They all think positive when it comes to their training, their nutrition and their lifestyle ion general.
Firstly, the old school technique requires more determination.

  2. Its such as you learn my mind! You appear to understand so much
about this, like you wrote the ebook in it or something.
I feel that you can do with a few % to drive the message home
a little bit, however instead of that, this is fantastic blog.
A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.

You have ended my four day long hunt! God Bless you man.
    Have a nice day. Bye

  4. “…we need to support people who have a history and know what it is like to sign the front of a paycheck, not the back of a paycheck…the front of the paycheck…It’s just you and your wife and your banker; you know that’s it.”

Spoken by Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick at a Tea Party rally, September 2012. Mike Fitzpatrick, member of the House Banking Committee, jumping on the Romney 47% bandwagon. Which side of the check does Mike Fitzpatrick sign?

  5. If Ms. Boockvar is so versed on the needs of Bucks County residents why, then, does she fund raise in CA, consult with Nancy Pelosi, and import a radical group (CREDO) funded by George Soros to assist her? This woman is Patrick Murphy x 2. PA has proven there is no place in our state for Patrick Murphy and most certainly there is no place for Boockvar who is the equivalent of Murphy on steroids.

  6. Susan is a retiree that lives in an affluent neighborhood of $400,000 homes and claims to be struggling.
She is a typical old hoarder who only wants all the resources she can get for herself.

  7. Perpetual loser candidate Boockvar can’t even win a small election and she is running for Congress?? Take your beating in November and then fade away, please. Same old libtard madness.

  8. Fitzpatrick still cannot claim to be independent with a record of voting 83% of the time with his party which is the party of Romney and Ryan.

  9. Retraction: The vote on HR 6169 was not the final vote. It was a vote to recommit with instructions. I double checked the source, and went to gov.track for clarification.

  10. Faith Bender provided a link…people should read it…it is very enlightening and refutes previous lies about how much money went to China.
Of the 2.6 million it was the least amount of money received by any entity for wind turbine production.
    EXCERPT:
Choma, Feb. 8, 2010: Trying to divine whose pocket the stimulus money eventually ends up in is difficult because of the complex nature of wind turbines. Even the companies that have significant turbine production facilities in the United States rely on foreign sources for many of the 8,000 components.

In a blog post on Sept. 27, Choma wrote: “…we can’t say for sure how much of this stimulus money went to create jobs in China. Some money definitely did, but it is safe to say more money went to creating jobs in the U.S. and Europe.”

  11. How is voting 83% with his party make Fitzpatrick an independent?

As for tax reform, he voted against it as did most republicans in the House.
    Failed VOTE 551
    H R 6169
To Provide for Expedited Consideration of a Bill Providing for Comprehensive Tax Reform

  12. She is not beholden tot he Tea Party becasue she is a puppet for Nancy Pelosi and the hard left.
That is why Emily’s List and CREDO, both California based PACS are supporting her.

We had a Pelosi Lapdog and we voted him out with a 10% margin.

  13. Kathy Bookvar is strong, fresh, and clean. She is not beholden to the Tea Party like Mike Fitzpatrick. Articulate, smart, up-to-date, she will never make us feel embarrassed to be Pennsylvanians the way Ftizpatrick did when he accused the President of the United States of committing treason. She has great ideas about what is good for Pennsylvania and for the WHOLE United States of America, not just an extreme few.
