NRCC Launches First Web Ad of PA-18 Special Election

The National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC) is launching its first web ad in the special election to replace former Congressman Tim Murphy, targeting Democrat Conor Lamb by pushing to tie him with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.

The ad, a 45 second web video, is a parody of the nursery rhyme “Mary had a Little Lamb” saying “Nancy had a little Lamb.”  It is an attempt to use the playbook Republicans have been using in special elections since Trump’s election, pushing Democratic candidate as close to Pelosi as possible.

Lamb has said he would not support Pelosi for Democratic Leader if elected.  The NRCC says that is just rhetoric.

“There’s a reason Conor Lamb’s campaign has been nothing but canned statements and empty rhetoric. He knows his liberal views are completely out of touch with Pennsylvania’s 18th district – and he would be a rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi’s failed agenda if given the opportunity,” NRCC spokesman Chris Martin said.

The March 13th special election will pit Lamb against state Rep. Rick Saccone (R-Allegheny).  Outside groups have been spending large amounts of money on the race.  President Trump has already visited the district to campaign for Saccone, with Vice President Pence scheduled to make at least one stop to campaign for Saccone.

PoliticsPA has reached out to Lamb’s campaign for a response to the ad.

  1. Isn’t it hypocritical for Saccone to attack Conor Lamb’s last name? After all isn’t Saccone a true Christian at heart? And Christian’s live by the Bible, at least sometimes they do when it’s in their interest to. I guess all the right wing conservative pastors will give Saccone a “pass” on his hypocritical behavior.

  2. Saccone and the repugs are running scared. These douches will try anything if they think it will stick. Go Lamb!!!!

  3. Lamb is pro life, said he wouldn’t vote for Pelosi, also pro gun, and republicans are still trying to paint him as a liberal.I guess they have no other way to win with saccone,That being said the ad is hilarious.
