The NRDC Action Fund and the League of Conservation Voters plan to spend $350,000 on an ad indicting Rep. Jason Altmire’s environmental voting record, the group announced today.
The hard-hitting 30 second ad, which will run starting today in the Pittsburgh media market, accuses Altmire of endangering human health by voting to repeal pieces of the Clean Air Act.

“When I travel around western Pennsylvania to discuss the factors holding back our economic recovery, onerous EPA regulations are at the top of the list. We are lucky to have an unemployment rate below the national average and we are incredibly well-positioned to take advantage of our unmatched energy assets,” Altmire said in a statement.
“I represent 700,000 residents of western Pennsylvania and live here myself, along with my family. To imply that I would support any legislation that would promote an unhealthy environment and pollute the air we breathe and the water we drink is preposterous.”
Correction: The original version of this story indicated that the NRDC was responsible for this ad. In fact, it is the NRDC Action Fund, the political cousin of the National Resources Defense Council, in Conjunction with the LCV.

I suppose the LCV and NRDC understand he doesn’t care. There simply aren’t the numbers (voters) in his purple district to make this even a top 3 issue.
Another reason to admire Jason.
The EPA is bent on shutting down America – its new regulations, as yet unimpeded by Congress,
work to make us more dependent on foreign energy, cut down on PA’s vast resources of fuels.
The NRDC works against American interests, though anti-corporate lobbying and litigating which is aimed at crippling
America’s production and consumer choice.
NRDC will not disclose their foreign contributors;
