NRSC Asks Bob Casey Why He Won’t Let Americans See The Votes

WASHINGTON – With the House of Representatives voting today to repeal President Obama’s budget-busting health care bill, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) called on Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) to allow a similar vote on this measure in the Senate.

Senate Democrats are refusing to allow the Senate to even consider the measure — let alone hold a vote – while the Washington Post reported last week that in a renewed effort to “sell” ObamaCare, the White House “set up a rapid-response operation and was planning to deploy Cabinet secretaries this week to make the Democrats’ case in newspaper editorials, on the radio and in satellite interviews with local television stations.”
“Americans deserve a vote, not a sales pitch, and if Bob Casey truly believes most Pennsylvanians are on his side in supporting $570 billion in new taxes and $500 billion in cuts to Medicare, then he should step forward and allow the American people to see the votes.  The question is – why won’t he?” National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Chris Bond asked today.

“Every time Pennsylvanians hear Senator Casey proclaim his political independence, they should look no further than this issue and this debate.  Senator Casey has an opportunity to finally stand with the thousands of Pennsylvanians who have voiced their opposition to this budget-busting monstrosity, and replace it with a common-sense approach that will lower costs for middle-class families and small businesses. The sad reality, however, is that instead of standing with Pennsylvania’s families, Bob Casey is once again standing with his liberal party leaders in Washington,” Bond concluded.
