3. Your Down-Ballot Votes Have The Biggest Impact, Officials And Candidates Say

“On Nov. 7, Greater Pittsburgh, like the rest of the country, will head to the polls. The region’s patchwork of small municipalities, school districts and magisterial courts means that residents living blocks apart may have very different ballots. Some of these races may not seem glamorous, but candidates and elected officials agree that voting in these local contests has a major bearing on local policy.

Not only do politicians at the local level address needs including trash collection, public transport and infrastructure upkeep, Allegheny County Councilor Tom Duerr says, but they’re much more accessible than state and national figures.” (Public Source)

5. Appreciation: It’s Never Too Late

104-year-old skydiver dies days after jump that could put her in the record books

“It was wonderful up there. The whole thing was delightful, wonderful, couldn’t have been better.”

Dorothy Hoffner, the 104-year-old who jumped out of a plane last week, likely becoming the oldest person ever to skydive, died Monday night. Skydive Chicago, which is working with the Guinness Book of World Records to certify that Hoffner—who would have been 105 in December—is the oldest tandem skydiver ever, said in a statement, “Skydiving is an activity that many of us safely tucked away in our bucket lists. But Dorothy reminds us that it’s never too late to take the thrill of a lifetime.”

  1. Kim Ward – oh yeah, right, she’s really a concerned adult in all this. Not. Just another member of the Republican clown car. Everybody in Westmoreland County knows how the “Senator” used to prance around at least once a week in her red cowboy boots at the Fort Pitt Hotel bar in Jeannette, drunk out of her mind, doing bad karaoke, and generally being the party girl that she really is.

  2. Steve Zappala jr. Has one last mean trick
To save his election. Next week he will
criminally charge Mayor Gainey with a
Bullshit complaint hoping to pit Blacks against Whites in a race war. He did it before…to Mayor Murphy…to Sheriff Defazio and to Coroner Cyril Wecht. It won’t help him win because his past has been exposed. He is a mafia related fraud and the Republicans should be infuriated
That he is now staining the party of Lincoln. Eisenhower and Teddy Roosevelt.

  3. Does anyone else find it strange that the same argument Shapiro made condemning the Catholic Church keeping the dealings of child sexual assault in house and not going public with it, is how his office handled protecting his friend, who acted like a monster, that would assault employees in his own adminstration?
But hey, what do I know. He makes cool Tik Tok’s though!

    1. So now politicians, not courts, are supposed to resolve child sexual assault charges? No wonder the politics of hatred is ascendant.
