Nothstein defeated businessman Dean Downing by just over 300 votes.

Nothstein declared victory just before midnight on Election Day.

Nothstein’s win sets up a general election between him and Democrat Susan Wild in the Lehigh Valley based seat.

  1. Marty will be in Congress this time next year. The reason this was so close was because of a strong tea party contingency in the LHV. Those guys will come around and vote for party to keep a radical leftist like Susan Wild with her EMILYs List money. If Morganelli would have won that primary I would be concerned, but with Wild winning Marty can win the right and own the center, where most of the voters in the LHV truly sit, as we found out when Marty pulled a lot of independent and weak dem votes when he won the Commissioners race.

Now to Little Dean Saccone-Browning. He has now lost to Marty twice in a row (AS IF THE COMPARISONS BETWEEN HIM AND SACCONE WEREN’T STRONG ENOUGH). Please stop running for things in the LHV, it’s honestly laughable at this point, not sure it can really get worse.

    1. No suprise that Browning got Tea Party support. He’s been financing the group. In addition, Dean ran a nasty, dishonest campaign. The upside to his having done that is that Wild cannot do it again in the run up to November. She’s gotten so much cash from Emily’s List and other single-issue liberal interest groups that she’ll be unable to deviate in the slightest from their objectives.

That alone will cost her the center.

    2. EBCIV is definitely a former-politico who’s need a fix- its clearly killing you and you’re spending all your time spewing on PoliticsPA about “radical leftists” like Susan Wild. Have you ever actually met a radical leftist? You don’t honestly believe Emily’s List donates to radicals do you? come now.

Time to jump ship and join us on the Dem side – you aren’t going to fix your f$%^#d mess of a party – everyone who realized how duped they were just jumped ship like Dent.

      1. Dunno about you, but I think that murdering unborn children is pretty radical. Since Wild is a self-identified leftist, that would make her a “radical leftist.”

      2. Wild was also the solicitor for FedEd Pawlowski, has a history of representing big insurance companies against the little guy as well as men accused of sexual assault. I wouldn’t say all recipients of Emily’s List $$ are radicals but supporting candidates like Susan Ellis Wild, Hillary Clinton and Katie McGinty definitely paints a picture.

      3. First of all Guillermo, you’re obviously insane. You’ve now penned me for working for 2 different campaigns and now I’m a “former-politico”. You hook me for spending all my time on PoliticsPA but yet you’re reading all of my comments and commenting on them????

I think that late term abortion is a pretty radical idea. As Dwight.. says below, not all Emily’s List beneficiaries are radical leftists, but the grand majority sure is.

Time to jump on the side who isn’t in power..that makes sense. Maybe when you realize that voters vote their pocket books and not their social issues, you’ll come over to the #WINNING side. But we don’t want your nasty ass over here anyway.

  2. Congrats Marty on winning the primary and I will be supporting Susan for the general election because they need more women like her in congress.

    1. I was surprised that Dean Browning did so well for many reasons but I am disheartened that his message of ignorance, racism and anti-immigration resonated with Republican voters in Lehigh County. We’re better than that.

    2. While I absolutely agree that he underperformed here in the primary, I think you need to look at the bigger picture. Whether he won by 1000 or 1, hes the nominee. He has a history of performing better in generals when his common sense approach to politics brings a lot of independents and weak dems (HUGE population of these kinds of voters in the LHV).

Morganelli would have been an extremely tough draw for him, but with Wild, Marty can own 75% of the political spectrum. Also, because this was a contested primary, he did all of this on his own with very little infrastructure. While your point certainly resonates, I think it’s important to look at the bigger picture.

  3. Most importantly, please be sure to write me in in the November’s general elections for I am the best candidates
