A new web video released by the Our Voices Matter PAC, purports to show the inconsistency between the words and record of incumbent Congressman Keith Rothfus.
The theme of the thirty-second video is that Rep. Rothfus is a “Con Man” rather than a Congressman.
First, the ad explains that Rothfus claimed to support the passage of the Violence Against Women Act of 2013 while voting against the bill itself. It cites a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette editorial from March 2013 to back up this claim.
Hitting the incumbent on one of his most fundamental issues, the ad states, “Con Man Keith Claimed to support veterans, but voted against funding for veterans hospitals.”
It cites the congressman’s vote on The Disaster Appropriations Act of 2013, which authorized $80 billion in disaster relief after Hurricane Sandy, including funding for the reconstruction of the Manhattan VA.
Finally, the commercial, points out the contradiction between the Republican’s claim to “protect us from Ebola,” and his vote against increased CDC funding in H.R. 45.
The sole source of funds for Our Voices Matter PAC come from a $100,000 donation from UPMC Dr. Patrick L. Kane. Interestingly, Kane gave $1,000 to Rothfus last summer then became a maxed-out donor ($5,200) to PA-12 Democratic nominee Erin McClelland in December.

All you have to do is check his record. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. Not only is he a con man but he’s a bold faced liar. He was one of the first freshman congressman to sign up for the Cadillac benefits they receive but complained when he was told there was a waiting period before they went into affect. Totally unfit to serve and a hypocrite.
Not just a web video. It is on broadcast in Pittsburgh and cable in the district.
