Val Arkoosh debuted a new ad, entitled “Excited,” starring her daughter, who gives the physician and first-time candidate tips on delivering the perfect pitch.

“My daughter is excited about my campaign for Congress,” says Arkoosh.

“I’m Val Arkoosh, I’m a problem-solver not a politician, that’s how you do it,” Olivia recites to her mom.

“From the delivery room to helping the President help pass health care reform, I’ve spent my career solving problems – so insurance companies can’t deny coverage,” says Arkoosh.

“Or charge women more. Don’t forget that one,” interjects Olivia.

Ads with candidates’ children seem to be very popular this year, as Daylin Leach and Kevin Strouse (PA-8) have already done the same.

The 30-second spot will run on broadcast in Philadelphia through this week. It’s a cute ad that shows a more personable side of Arkoosh than her resume as a successful doctor would suggest.

But Arkoosh is a first-time candidate facing State Rep. Brendan Boyle, State Senator Daylin Leach and former Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies, so she has an uphill battle to garner name recognition in the primary. So far, she’s posted impressive fundraising numbers and reasonable spending left her with enough cash to make serious media buys in the last three weeks til the primary.
