Rep. Boyle
Rep. Boyle

Democratic congressional candidate and State Rep. Brendan Boyle revealed today a list of nine elected officials from Northeast Philadelphia who are backing his campaign for PA’s 13th district.

The endorsements range from the obvious (the candidate’s brother) to the significant (a candidate for Lieutenant Governor). The full list is included below:

  • State Senator Mike Stack
  • City Controller Alan Butkovitz
  • Councilman Bobby Henon
  • Councilman Bill Greenlee
  • Councilman Jim Kenney
  • State Representative Ed Neilson
  • State Representative James Clay
  • State Representative Mike McGeehan
  • State Representative Kevin Boyle

“I am proud to have the support of such an accomplished and wide ranging group of leaders in our community as I campaign for Congress,” said Boyle. “These endorsements are yet another example of how our campaign continues to build momentum, and of our shared vision for how to make Northeast Philadelphia, from Mayfair to Somerton, a better place to live and work.”

“As the only Philadelphia candidate in this race, Brendan has the experience to be the advocate for Northeast Philadelphia that we need in Congress,” said State Rep. Ed Neilson. “We’ve worked together in Harrisburg on many tough issues, and I look forward to continuing our work when we send him to Washington.”

Other Democratic candidates in PA-13 include physician Val Arkoosh, State Senator Daylin Leach and former Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies.

  1. This is a good win for Brendan Boyle. Combined with the endorsements from MontCo officials a few weeks ago, it shows that he can reach across county lines for support.
