PA-13: Joyce Announces Reelection Bid

Rep. John Joyce

U.S. Rep. Dr. John Joyce (R-Blair) announced on Tuesday that he plans to seek a fourth term representing Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District during the 2024 election cycle.

The district contains all of Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, and Perry counties. It also includes slivers of Cumberland and Somerset counties.

Joyce specifically mentioned improving rural health care and continuing his Homegrown Health Care Initiative that provides Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine students the opportunity to complete their clinical studies at regional hubs, including Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, among his goals if reelected.

“We need to assure that everyone has access to the physician they need,” said Joyce when first announcing his reelection bid in an interview with The Tribune-Democrat. “The opportunities of the Homegrown Health Care (Initiative) have started. … This ability to allow students to be able to come home, and train, and set up in the communities where they come from to be able to serve at a different level, that is one of the key reasons that I’m running for reelection.”

A 1975 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, Joyce attended Penn State Altoona for two years, and then continued his undergraduate education at Penn State University Park. He graduated with honors with a degree in biology in 1979 and continued his education at Temple University receiving his M.D. in 1983.

Subsequently, he completed a 3-year internal medicine residency as a Johns Hopkins fellow in Baltimore, Md. He then completed a residency in Dermatology at Johns Hopkins finishing as chief resident. Dr. Joyce is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Joyce has has served the 13th District of Pennsylvania in Washington since 2019.

  1. He is an Insurrectionist. Need I say more? We need a good Democratic candidate to oppose him.
