Dwight Evans is out with his first fundraising totals in the PA-2 Democratic primary contest.
Evans joined the race in November and since that time has brought in over $330,000. His campaign also revealed they have $280,000 cash on hand.
“I’m extremely grateful to all those who’ve given to this campaign, and who have committed to being a part of this effort to build a better Philadelphia, block by block,” Evans said. “It’s time for the federal government to stop ignoring urban America and it’s unacceptable to allow permanent poverty in this county. We need to implement a new federal plan for our cities that includes all of our neighborhoods.”
The campaign’s press release also contained one seemingly innocuous phrase that was really a shot at a primary opponent.
“Evans will not be running for re-election in [his] house district,” Campaign Manager Michael Dineen wrote.
This is almost assuredly a reference to State Rep. Brian Sims, who is running for both re-election and the PA-2 Democratic nomination. Yesterday, Sims revealed he raised $230,000.
Ninth Ward Leader Dan Muroff and Lower Merion Township Commissioner Brian Gordon are also challenging Congressman Fattah, who is running for re-election despite facing 29 indictments.
The 2nd district consists of parts of Northwest Philadelphia as well as Southwestern Montgomery County.

Thanks for another informative site. Where else could I get that type of information written in such an ideal way? I’ve a project that I am just now working on, and I have been on the look out for such info.

I’m guessing for Lamont Thomas Dwight Evans Challenger into the 2012 Democratic Primary should run in the 203rd State House Seat in Pennsylvania in 2016 because I think for he will do well this time better than in 2012.
Here’s who Crowdpac lists as a potential candidate in the 203rd: https://www.crowdpac.com/races/pa/state/lower/203
Who is running in the 203rd to replace Dwight?
Has Eakin resigned yet?
$100,00 more than Sims! An impressive haul for Rep Evans.
