PA-2: Leach Endorses Dan Muroff

MuroffWith the primary quickly approaching, Dan Muroff has secured one of his biggest endorsements yet.

State Senator Daylin Leach has endorsed the Philadelphia Ward leader, citing their common opinions on reducing gun violence.

“I’ve known Dan Muroff and we share the same progressive values,” stated Leach. “Dan has worked tirelessly for his community, to protect the environment and to reduce gun violence. I am proud to support his campaign for Congress and believe that his experience makes him the best choice. I urge my friends and supporters to vote for Dan Muroff.”

“I am truly honored one of the most progressive leaders in Pennsylvania has endorsed my candidacy,” Muroff said of Leach’s support. “I look forward to working with Senator Leach as a partner in our efforts to support and advance progressive values, to transition to renewable energy and to reduce gun violence.”

Leach himself ran for Congress in 2014 to replace Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz in the 13th Congressional District, though he ultimately lost to Congressman Brendan Boyle.

Muroff will be facing embattled incumbent Chaka Fattah, State Rep. Dwight Evans and Lower Merion Commissioner Brian Gordon in the April 26th Democratic Primary.

The 2nd Congressional District consists of parts of Northwest Philadelphia as well as Southwestern Montgomery County.
