PA-6: Montco Dems Endorse Trivedi

Manan Trivedi won the backing of the Montgomery County Democratic Committee yesterday with a large majority of support from the assembled officials.

Trivedi, an Iraq war veteran and physician, was the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 6th district in 2010 and 2012. It is highly possible his familiarity with local politicos contributed to his massive total of 97% of the vote from Montgomery County’s Democrats.

“I thank the Montgomery County Democratic Committee for their endorsement and what it means to our campaign. Our hard work over the years and our commitment to this community continue to prove positive outcomes us,” Trivedi said. “There has never been any doubt about where I stand when it comes to growing an economy that builds a stronger middle class, improving education and supporting a woman’s right to choose. It’s why Democrats across the 6th congressional district are joining us.”

Trivedi is running against Mike Parrish in Pennsylvania’s sixth district.

“We know that voters want something different than a career politician like Ryan Costello in Washington,” Parrish told PoliticsPA. “The Army helped me get an incredible education – and I’ve since used my degrees in engineering and business administration to start my own businesses where I created good paying jobs – here, in the district. I understand firsthand the challenges that small businesses face. I am the best candidate in this race to do what it will take to grow the economy and create jobs.”

The 6th district is a complex puzzle that spans Montgomery, Chester, Berks, and Lebanon Counties.

Trivedi also won the Chester County Democrats’ endorsement earlier this week. The Montgomery County Dems chose not to endorse in any other race within their purview including PA-13, Lt Gov or Gov.
