According to campaign finance reports for the third financial quarter, Representative Mike Fitzpatrick holds a commanding cash lead over Democratic challenger Kevin Strouse.
Fitzpatrick currently has $2.1 million cash on hand, improving from the results of the last quarter, and dwarfing Strouse’s $174,000 cash on hand.
Contributions
Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick brought in $409,075.51 in the third quarter. Of that total, $235,590 came from individual donors, while Political Action Committees (PACs) donated $145,600 to the Congressman. Fitzpatrick raised less than the previous quarter, but received more donations from individuals this quarter.
Among the biggest donors to Fitzpatrick were the National Cable & Telecommunications Association PAC, Asplundh Tree Expert PAC, Dealers Election Action Committee of the National Automotive Dealers Association, United Transportation Union PAC, Real Estate Investment Trusts PAC, and UBS Americas Fund for Better Government. These six PACs each donated $5,000.
Meanwhile, Democratic nominee Strouse raised $235,621.54. PACs donated $41,178.67 of the total, with an additional $151,166.55 coming from individual donors. The individual donations for Strouse improved by nearly $30,000 from the previous quarter, but PAC donations dipped by approximately $13,000.
The Machinists Non-Partisan Political League, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, New Democrat Coalition Political Action, and United Food & Commercial Works Internship each donated $5,000 to the campaign.
Expenditures
Congressman Fitzpatrick’s expenditures totaled $156,035.69. Similar to last quarter, the largest expenditure was for the consulting work of the Theodore Company, which cost $50,563.80. The Congressman also spent $7,258.55 for printed campaign materials by Kronco.com, Inc.
The total expenditures for Strouse came in at $330,141. Strouse paid out $177,528.08 to GMMB Inc. for broadcast media. An additional $17,900 was shelled out for consulting and polling from the Global Strategy Group.
