Today, Shaughnessy Naughton, Democratic candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District, received the endorsement of Progressive Kick PAC.

On top of their endorsement, they have listed Naughton as a “US House Candidate Worth Working For in 2014” who has received their “highest honors.”

“I am proud to have the endorsement of a PAC dedicated to standing up for those who need it most,” Naughton said. “That’s why I got into this race to begin with. I am increasingly frustrated with the growing inequality in our country, with our lack of sound environmental policy, and with the number of people still out of work. I know that we can do better, and I am glad to have a team of national progressive supporters behind me in my fight to bring true progressive change to Washington.”

Progressive Kick PAC focuses on getting progressive candidates elected to U.S. House and state legislatures. The organization is fairly new and has coordinated with other campaign machines like Emily’s List to get progressive candidates elected to Congress.

Naughton is currently running against Kevin Strouse for the Democratic nomination to face incumbent Republican Michael Fitzpatrick for his seat in Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District.

Naughton has also received endorsements from the Women’s Campaign Fund, the Tri-State Maxed-Out Women’s PAC, the Women Under Forty PAC, the Ironworkers Local Union 401 and EMILY’S List.
