PA-8: NRCC Emphasizes Taxes in Attack Ad Against Santarsiero (VIDEO)

The National Republican Campaign Committee has made its line of attack against Democratic nominee Steve Santarsiero clear.

After a similar ad last week, the NRCC is launching another thirty-second spot, titled “Treadmill”. The video features a woman running on a treadmill that’s meant to represent the middle class.

“It’s been sixteen years since middle class families got a raise,” the narrator states. “It feels like we’re running in place. But career politician Steve Santarsiero has voted for higher taxes that destroy good-paying jobs. Santarsiero voted for higher property taxes as township supervisor. He voted for higher income taxes as state legislator. And he’ll vote for higher taxes again in Washington.”

“Self-serving politician Steve Santarsiero has really made taxpayers sweat,” it concludes.

“Steve Santarsiero has consistently supported higher taxes that destroy good-paying jobs,” NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack asserted. “The people of Southeast Pennsylvania deserve better than a do-nothing politician like Steve Santarsiero and his notorious legacy of raising taxes.”

“Steve Santarsiero has been a reformer in Harrisburg who has been a steadfast steward of our tax dollars,” Santarsiero Campaign Manager Eric Goldman responded. “He’s refused perks and per diems and has fought for tax breaks to support local businesses and create Pennsylvania jobs. It’s no surprise that national Republicans are launching misleading attacks to deflect from the fact that they shipped in a Republican nominee from out of state to enforce their out of touch agenda of cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Pell Grants, and veterans benefits.”

Santarsiero is running against GOP nominee Brian Fitzpatrick, younger brother of the retiring incumbent Congressman.

The 8th Congressional District represents all of Bucks County as well as parts of upper Montgomery County.

  5. I’d just like to point out that the chick “running” is sweating her a$$ off while having only covered .67 miles in almost 13 minutes haha. That’s barely a geriatric walking pace.

  6. Brian Fitzpatrick was rude at his ice cream “social”, refusing to answer any questions voters had, and spent most of the time surrounded by staff, Mike doesn’t want people to know his brother isn’t as good as him!

  9. Be sure to say Fitzgerald is a brother of the incumbent, because that’s a qualification for office in PA.
