PA-8: Strouse Creates Anti-Fitzpatrick Website

Kevin Strouse loresIn 21st century politics, combative websites have become the norm and that’s no different in the battle for PA-8.

The Strouse campaign announced their own such effort today, which they’ve dubbed “Fitz’s Fibs”.

This effort is an attempt to chip away at Fitzpatrick’s reputation as a moderate Southeast PA Republican. The Congressman has worked assiduously over the years to build this image and his ability to hold onto the swing district is a testament to his success.

The Strouse campaign is convinced Fitzpatrick’s reputation is a facade and they’ve decided to take particular aim at the Representative over his ties to the oil industry.

“In the district, Congressman Fitzpatrick claims that he has opposed subsidies for big oil companies,” Strouse stated. “But after taking more than $70,000 in campaign donations from oil companies, he voted to protect billions of dollars of subsidies for big oil, despite his empty promises. To add insult to injury, he has sided with Governor Corbett on gas drilling companies, keeping Pennsylvania as the only state in the entire country that does not get the benefit of an extraction tax for the drilling of the state’s natural resources.”

The Democratic nominee went on to pledge to end the subsidies and assert that the incumbent is only concerned with the interests of oil companies.

The 8th congressional district consists of all of Bucks County as well as parts of upper Montgomery County.

  1. Brad Kirsch you are a party hack.
State committee member for the Democratic party and most likely a lacky for “Hot Tub” John Cordisco who is proving to be a horrible party chair. Not only will Fitzpatrick win by 30 points but the democratic 6th district will remain a republican seat as will the 10th district.

If Hot Tub had any brains he wouldn’t be dousing the chances of dems to hold the state senate by running nobodies like Rose and Cickay.

  2. Don’t make fun of my FAV Kevin Strouse. He just moved here and he already knows more about Bucks County than I do. Did I mention I was a Docter.

  3. As someone who supported Mike Fitzpatrick in 2012, I no longer think he truly represents the 8th district. I am not voting for him; I haven’t decided whether I will vote for Strouse yet.

  4. I live in Bucks, pay my taxes here and I moved here about 35 years ago. I am therefore not one of the biased natives!

Kevin Strouse has sevred several tours at war and has every right and reason to live in and to serve our County as a Congressman.

This is important to understand, since Mike Fitzpatrick has done a steadily declining job in the post. Mike’s having been born here hasn’t made him a great Congressman!

Of course there is a silent code here, among some, that started many years ago when the farming of lands ruled our Bucks commerce. That was that if you weren’t born here you wouldn’t understand!

Well, those days are gone and in order to protect our present lives in Bucks County we actually need imports of the kind who actually walk the American walk and don’t rely on Bucks prejudice about past greatnesses to stand in the way of making Bucks work for the people of this time.

Please judge Kevin Strouse on his proven record of national service and understand the generation he represents is the same as the generation that built Bucks after WW2.

  5. Incumbency,
Sadly you must have been talking to another North Jersey transplant for your statement to be accurate.
But it’s okay, Strouse can always go back to DELCO and vote for Trivedi.

  6. That’s funny. I heard someone from Doylestown ask who’s Mike Fitzpatrick the other day. Hasn’t he been in multiple elected offices for more than 20 years?

  7. Where is stouse even from?

It sure aint the 8th district or he wouldn’t act so lost all the time.

Seriously? Seriously? He pours bubbles on his head and tells us how serious he is??

Stouse bubble thought: ‘Where am I again?’
