The campaign of Kevin Strouse announced Friday that they have received the support of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) Local 7048. The Strouse campaign insisted that this represents the first labor endorsement of the Democratic primary race.

“I believe Kevin Strouse has what it takes to get this job done. We are proud to be the first labor organization to endorse his candidacy,” said APWU Local 7048 President Vince Tarducci.

“Protecting local jobs and helping our middle class families and seniors are the reasons I’m running for Congress. I am proud to receive APWU’s support and look forward to working with them throughout the campaign,” Strouse said.

An Army Ranger and former CIA officer, Kevin Strouse announced his candidacy in April. His primary opponent, businesswoman Shaughnessy Naughton, won the backing of two women’s campaign groups last week.

Strouse and Naughton are battling for the right to take on Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks) next November.
