Toomey Calls Group ‘Extreme’ Despite Support for Republicans, Including 3 in Delaware Valley

Harrisburg, PA – Yesterday, Pat Toomey launched a flailing attack against Joe Sestak for receiving donations from the same organization that contributed to Congressman Jim Gerlach (who Toomey recently campaigned with), Jim Kolbe (who Toomey endorsed) and many other Republicans.

“Pat Toomey’s attack on Joe Sestak and Jim Gerlach was about as reckless as his Wall Street friends’ derivatives trades that helped cause the economic collapse,” said Mark Nicastre, spokesman with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Just last month, Toomey was campaigning with fellow Republican Congressman Jim Gerlach, now he’s attacking him. What does Jim Gerlach think about Pat Toomey’s attack on his donor?”
