In a vote to begin debate on articles of impeachment, Pennsylvania Democrats split, with Congressmen Brady and Evans voting for debate, and Congressmen Boyle, Doyle, and Cartwright voting against.
The resolution, proposed by Texas Congressman Al Green, was pushed for a vote without the support of Democratic leadership.
The motion to sideline the impeachment vote, which effectively kills it, passed 364-58.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi reportedly urged Democrats to help stop the effort by Green during a closed door caucus meeting.
Brady, Boyle, and Evans represent Philadelphia and more progressive districts. Doyle is the only western Pennsylvania Democrat in the delegation. Cartwright, whose district voted for Trump in 2016, is being targeted by national Republicans as a possible pick up for them in 2018.

I heard someone say this morning that the Democratic Party should change its name to the “Impeachment Party”! Every Republican President since Ronald Reagan has been threatened with impeachment by the Democrats! I will be working very, very hard this election season to do my best to make sure that every Democrat running for Congress and the U.S. Senate is DEFEATED! These damned “snowflakes” need to melt NOW!
