PA GOP Chair to Head RNC Committee

RobGleasonPennsylvania’s Republican Party Chair Rob Gleason won an important role in the RNC’s 2016 convention process.

Today, it was announced that Gleason will serve as Chairman of the Committee of the Call. The Committee of the Call is tasked with some of the official proceedings during the party’s 2016 presidential nominating convention.

“On behalf of the Republican National Committee, I am proud to officially issue the Call of the 2016 Convention,” said RNC Chairman Priebus. “I would like to thank Rob Gleason for his hard work as the Chair of the Committee on the Call, as well as the other Committee members in assisting in issuing the final Call of the Convention.”

“I want to thank Chairman Priebus for selecting me for such an important role in our Party,” Gleason said. “Every four years, the Republican National Convention serves as the kickoff for the general election season. I’m honored to have been picked to lead the Committee on the Call this year.”

Pennsylvania RNC Committee members Bob Asher and Christine Toretti will also serve on the committee.

“Pennsylvania Republicans will play a major role in choosing the next President of the United States,” Asher said. “I’m proud to help represent the Keystone State on this important committee.”

“It’s an honor to be selected for the Republican National Convention’s Committee on the Call,” Toretti said. “The Republican Party in Pennsylvania is strong, and we’re excited to be recognized on a national level.”

The 2016 Republican National Convention is set to take place in Cleveland, Ohio from July 18th to July 21st.

  1. At the end of the day, and despite the polls because its…December…JEB wins the nomination. Sounds silly and naive, but primaries are a very different animal than all the fun and games you’ve seen heretofore.

  2. Asher is an idiot. Pennsylvania will play little or no role in the nominating process because of the primary election date. With him, Gleason, and Toretti at the helm we will play no part in the general election either.

  3. Yesterday’s poll was very telling, for Trump fans.
He’s still at the top of the rightwing heap, overall numbers-wise. Still, he does not beat Hillary Clinton nationwide. However, take him out of the equation, and the other contenders are within a few points of beating HRC. What does that say? Donald Trump is only popular among the “casual” hard-right voters. When more mainstream (and believe me, ‘mainstream’ is a relative term here) candidates are introduced, it’s much closer. What this says, is that the segment of the population that supports Trump, are not serious voters. They’re the Sarah Palin fans of 2008, the Tea Party/WWE fans of 2009-2102.
They’re the kind of voter that gets beaten in a landslide. Twice. Keep Trump in the race as long as possible, RNC. He’s Pat Paulsen, Ralph Nader, and Ross Perot, with a trust fund.

  4. Please do not compare a former Senator and Secretary of State who has managed to rise up from an aggressive political witch hunt over what amounts to a few minor mistakes at best, to a buffoon that will make any statement, no matter how horrible in the hope that the media will pick it up and run with it. This idea which has taken hold in American political discourse that “well they’re just as bad on both sides” is baffling when you have a party whose polls are led by a duo that try to outdo each other’s inflammatory statements on a daily basis. This is a low point for the GOP. Don’t lump the Dems in with them.

  5. I’m no fan of trump, but isn’t putting the republican party down for having an idiot in the primary hypocritical? Like the dem primary is led by a real impressive gem? How many scandals has she been associated with? Stop laughing before you miss some valid observations to criticize.
