The Pa. Republican Party will gather for its Lincoln Day Dinner Friday night in Hershey, and again early Saturday morning to elect a new Chair, and endorse its slate of statewide judicial races.
The judicial endorsements look like they will go relatively smoothly based on straw poll results from the caucus meetings.
The main event on Saturday morning is the contested Chairman’s race, which drew endorsements from a U.S. Senator, State Senate and House leadership, a immensely popular Reader Poll, and a very close straw poll results. which has been a topic of much discussion by Party insiders.
PoliticsPA has learned that both Chairman candidates Lawrence Tabas and Val DiGiorgio will be hosting receptions Friday night. We have not heard word of any of the 2017 judicial candidates, or 2018 candidates for Governor or U.S. Senate hosting any events.
DiGiorgio’s reception is being joined by Senate Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, Majority Leader Jake Corman, House Speaker Mike Turzai, House Majority Leader Dave Reed, and Republican National Committeeman Bob Asher. He also lays out a list of State Party Members who will be attending the reception. The reception will run from 9 p.m. onwards.
Tabas’s reception is a Super Bowl Tailgate themed reception that will be running from 9 p.m. onwards.
Senator and gubernatorial hopeful Scott Wagner (R-York) will keynote speaker the Friday night dinner, along with Chairman Rob Gleason.
PoliticsPA will be there for the whole event, follow our Twitter account, and our Managing Editor’s Twitter account for live updates during the event.

Daniel C and Sklaroff trying to copy my doggy style.
I think what this comment section needs is more arguing. That’ll do the trick!
@ G:
America is not “starting a war with Iran” because you should have recognized that the provocations that have been increasing are due to the resolute pacifism of BHO.
@Daniel C
In what way is does starting a war with Iran accomplish any of those goals?
Hey lib guy, It is the liberals that have plundered America’s productive sector to the point that our GDP is so low we can’t pay back our debt, jobs are scarce and America doesn’t have the wealth generating capacity to adequately care for itself or the needy without borrowing from other countries. The Republicans want to improve America’s productive sector, make way for good long lasting jobs and strengthen the nation and you call that “selfish”. If that is your understanding, you need to broaden your scope to understand how the world really works before humiliating yourself with unsupportable statements and snide remarks. If the libs actually cared for “the people” like they claim, they would abandon their “I’m not getting my fair share” philosophy and promote legislation to strengthen America’s domestic productivity and strength the nation instead of expending its energy and resources to maintain the illusion of being “for the people”! Strengthen America and everybody benefits. If you continue to plunder what is left of America’s productive infrastructure for short term political gain we are all going down the tubes!
The “Selfish People Meeting”. Funny.
Val is hurting his chance by having all the “politicians” there. This is exactly what the people don’t want. These ego maniacs think they are more important than they really are. Tomorrow’s vote should also put the politicians on notice….
The Democrats are brilliant at PR. Unfortunately the Republicans don’t have a clue and as far as the past goes, they don’t want one. It has been a top down organization and that philosophy has hurt us. There are a lot of dedicated committee people in PA with the abilities and recourses to improve the conservative message. These people have been ignored. I hope that the next chair has the vision, commitment and ability to “improve” the party’s image. BTW, PR 101, “Notice I did not say change”, I have had all the “change” I can stand! The old school idea of limiting our message to the base and not effectively addressing the spin from the Democrats has diminished the general public’s opinion of the Republican philosophy. Therefore, our candidates get less votes. Lets start by eliminating “change” (that simply means different) and start practicing good PR by substituting “improve” when talking about the benefits of Republican philosophy. More later, but first lets see what happens.
SOMEONE should ask Wagner why he donated to LaRouche, Kerry and Dean.
