PA GOP: Is Joe Sestak Skipping Debate Because He Agrees With John Kerry’s Perception Of Voters?

Kerry Says Voters Are Clueless, Does Sestak Agree?

HARRISBURG – The Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Joe Sestak’s decision to skip today’s forum with Pat Toomey in order to hold a fundraiser with liberal U.S. Senator John Kerry.

“Rather than participating in a forum to debate the issues that are important to Pennsylvanians, Joe Sestak would rather attend a fundraiser with a Senator who just this weekend blamed his party’s electoral troubles on clueless voters who don’t ‘pay that much attention to what’s going on,’” Gleason said.  “Senator John Kerry’s comments reek of elitism and echo the growing disconnect between Washington politicians like John Kerry and Joe Sestak and the everyday, hardworking Pennsylvania taxpayers.  Does Joe Sestak agree with Senator Kerry’s comments that voters are clueless?  By not attending a forum to discuss the important issues with his opponent, one can only surmise that Joe Sestak must not think he has an obligation to share his views with Pennsylvania voters.

“The only ones who aren’t paying ‘that much attention to what’s going on’ are the extreme left-wing liberals in Washington, D.C. like John Kerry and Joe Sestak.  If they were listening to their constituents, they would realize that Americans are tired of the big government solutions that they continue to blindly push on the American people.  Whether it was their support for the stimulus, ObamaCare, a cap-and-trade energy tax, or their renewed calls to impose the largest tax increase in our nation’s history, the American people have simply had enough of the Democrats’ out-of-control liberal agenda.

“The only ones who will be proven clueless are John Kerry, Joe Sestak and other D.C liberals when the voters go to the polls and vote against them and their agenda on November 2nd.”

According to an article in the Boston Herald this weekend, John Kerry blamed uninformed voters on his party’s economic issues:A testy U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday blamed clueless voters with short attention spans for the uphill battle beleaguered Democrats are facing against Republicans across the nation.

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.
