PA GOP: Patrick Murphy’s Chief of Staff Jumping Ship To Campaign With Rahm

Staffers seeing writing on the wall, leaving Murphy before loss

HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Spokesman Mike Barley released the following statement regarding news that 8th District Democrat Congressman Patrick Murphy’s chief of staff is abandoning his position to run former White House Chief of Staff’s Rahm Emanuel’s bid for Mayor of Chicago.

“How does Patrick Murphy expect voters to support his campaign when even his staff is jumping ship,” Barley said.  “I guess we shouldn’t be shocked by the move.  After all, Patrick Murphy is so embedded within the Democratic establishment of Washington, D.C., he’s trading campaign staffers with former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.  Patrick Murphy has served as nothing short of a rubberstamp for the Obama-Pelosi liberal agenda, so it’s not surprising that his staff is so closely attached with this Administration. After all, Patrick Murphy’s voting record reveals that Murphy votes in lock step with the Obama-Pelosi agenda – government-run health care, cap-and trade and a nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.  He votes with Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time.

“The people of the 8th Congressional District are tired of Patrick Murphy’s love affair with the politics of President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel, and that’s why they’re voting for Mike Fitzpatrick on November 2nd.”

According to Politico, President Obama’s former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has hired Congressman Patrick Murphy’s chief of staff Scott Fairchild to manage his campaign.
