PA-Gov: Chocolate Workers Endorse McCord

Rob McCord loresState Treasurer Rob McCord announced the endorsement of Hershey’s Chocolate Workers in his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor.

The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers (BCTGM) Local 464 formally endorsed Rob McCord’s campaign today. An AFL-CIO affiliate, the Local 464 or “Chocolate Workers” represent more than 3,000 workers in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

“Since our historic strike in 1938, the Chocolate Workers Local 464 has been committed to serving the working families of Pennsylvania, and we know that’s a commitment Rob McCord shares,” said Local 464 Business Manager Dennis Bomberger. “Treasurer McCord has shown he has the experience and dedication we need to stand up for workers in Pennsylvania, and that’s why he’s the right person to lead this state through the challenges we face.”

“I’m honored to receive the support of the Chocolate Workers,” said McCord. “Their commitment to fighting for a living wage, good benefits, and improved workplace conditions for working families in Pennsylvania should serve as a model for the rest of the state. As governor, I’ll veto any anti-union legislation, and I’ll commit to protecting these organizations that are vital to our state’s success.”

This is McCord’s thirteenth union endorsement. Among the labor groups backing McCord’s campaign include five IBEW Locals, the Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters, and the Utility Workers Union of America.

Other Democratic candidates for Governor include, Rep. Allyson Schwartz, former DEP Secretaries John Hanger and Katie McGinty, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, and former Department of Revenue Secretary Tom Wolf.

  1. Someone already beat me to the Jo Ellen Litz joke. Me personally I like Dark Chocolate

  2. Joe-
Sounds like Obamacare made your meds a little too affordable. Cut back a bit.

There isn’t one precinct with 150% turnout let alone 54 of them. Please name even one precinct so I can point out how wrong you are.

    Dude-
    He forgot to yell: Benghazi
    🙂

  3. @David Diano:
Judging by the fact that 54 precincts in SEPA had 150% voter turnout with 100% of the vote for Obama, it only makes sense that voter I.D. shouldn’t exist. After all, the Commiecrat party wants as many 3rd world illegal immigrants from Mexico voting Commiecrat very early and very often. Judging by these poll #’s, it only makes sense that all of these pig wallowing Bolsheviks at BolsheviksPA don’t want voter I.D. because it would “disenfranchise” the illegal Mexicans from voting Commiecrat. I have read many posts from David Diano and the other Marxist filth that spout and yap off about how “racist” those evil republicans are, and how wonderful ObaMao and the other Commiecrats are. It is disgusting to see that even almost 23 years after the collapse of the Iron Curtain, this now pitiful country has adopted or is trying to forcefully impose elements of Soviet Communism onto this country at any cost! From socialized and politically weaponized medicine, to a central planned economy, and soon to be violent and forceful civilian disarmament an abolition of our Bill of Rights, it just doesn’t matter. I’m sure the Russians, Belarusians, and Ukrainians would have loved for anyone of their soviet dictators to be black. It probably would have made it all cool and hip, right? It’s
what we have here anyway; any Soviet dictator with a different skin color.

  4. I came up with a parody comment of Corbett being out of touch with Black people.

The only time he seems to recognize them as voters is when he’s trying to take away their right to vote by pursuing this bogus voterID law.

  5. I’m kind of surprised by this endorsement.

At every event where I’ve heard her speak, Jo Ellen Litz has made a point of plugging and celebrating PA’s chocolate manufacturing. I thought for sure she’d have that vote in her pocket. I guess that’s the way the chocolate chip cookie crumbles. 🙁

When Corbett heard McCord got the endorsement of the Chocolate Workers, he probably shrugged and said: “We weren’t getting the Black vote anyway.”
