PA-Gov: Clinton Fires Up Pittsburgh Audience at Wolf Rally

Bill-Clinton-WolfIn an effort to seal up victory for the Democratic challenger, former President Bill Clinton was sent in to rally voters at the Local IBEW union hall in Southside.

Calling Tom Wolf “in some ways the best candidate for governor in the United States of America,” Clinton praised his credentials as a Ph.D graduate of MIT and his choice to come back to Pennsylvania to rescue his family company.

Clinton also used his trademark charisma to portray the Democratic nominee as someone who will bridge the steep partisan divide in Harrisburg.

“Wherever people are fighting, good things are not happening. Wherever people are working together, good things are happening,” he stated. “You will have the best working-together governor you could ever hope to have and great things will happen when Tom Wolf becomes the Governor of Pennsylvania.”

The 42nd President of the United States is the third Democratic heavy-hitter to campaign for Wolf this month. First Lady Michelle Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton both stumped for Wolf in Philadelphia.

President Obama will appear with Wolf this weekend.

The PA Republican Party sought to disconnect Wolf from President Clinton while hammering him for the support from President Obama.

“Today, Tom Wolf will try to use President Bill Clinton to misdirect attention away from his full support of President Barack Obama’s agenda, including the War on Coal,” PA GOP Chairman Rob Gleason said. “Just like President Obama, Tom Wolf has decided to choose his liberal ideology over jobs.”

President Clinton was preceded by several speakers including Allegheny County Democratic Committee Chair Nancy Patton Mills, U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle, and U.S. Sen. Bob Casey.
