Governor Wolf welcomed some significant players into his Administration yesterday.
The State Senate voted to confirm four of the Governor’s cabinet nominees.
Ted Dallas will become Secretary of the Department of Human Services, Robin Wiessmann is set to take over as Secretary of the Department of Banking & Securities and Cindy Adams Dunn will be the new Secretary of the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources.
The most significant position, however, is the Secretary of the Department of State.
Pedro Cortes, who served in that office during the Rendell Administration, was approved by a 31-18 vote. Republican Senators Argall Backer, Browne, Corman, Gordner, Greenleaf, McIlhinney, Rafferty, Scavello, Tomlinson, Vance and Yaw joined with the Democrats.
The rest of the nominees were confirmed unanimously.
“I commend the Senate for their action in confirming a stellar group of public servants during today’s hearings,” Governor Wolf stated. “The unique qualifications and skills of these leaders, combined with deep experience in state government, make Secretary Pedro Cortés, Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn, Secretary Robin Wiessmann, and Secretary Ted Dallas valuable assets to my administration. I am confident that they will perform to the highest standards and am very glad to have them on board.”

sometimes the cards are worth more when you fold them.
Anyone else surprised that McGarrigle and Pileggi voted with the extremists in their party to oppose Governor Wolf’s selection? So much for those two having a mind of their own.
