Last year’s event may or may not have included a Gangnam Style spoof produced by the office of a certain Pennsylvania executive.

There might have been standup comedy routines by members of the legislature. It’s possible a few Capitol reporters donned wigs.

There’s no way to be sure, because the Gridiron Show of the Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents Association is off the record.

And so it will be this year, on October 15th. The PLCA is the organization that represents news outlets that cover goings on in Harrisburg. Governor Tom Corbett will be attending the event as well as several other prominent Pa. lawmakers, reporters and more.

The nonpartisan, annual event is similar to the famous D.C. Gridiron Dinner that began in 1885. Proceeds go towards paying for Capitol Newsroom summer internships.

It will be held at The State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg. Doors open at 5 p.m. The evening begins with a cash bar and appetizer buffet in Memorial Hall and Village Square. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium although the bar will remain open until 8 p.m.

Tickets cost $85 until October 9th when they will rise to $90. You can get a discount rate of $80 a ticket if you purchase ten or more. Tickets can be purchased at www.palegislativecorrespondents.org or by visiting the Capitol Newsroom in Room 256E at the Main Capitol.
