A week after holding onto its one-seat majority in the Pennsylvania State House, Democrats announced their leadership team for the 2025-26 legislative session.
Rep. Joanna McClinton (D-Philadelphia/Delaware) will retain her position as Speaker of the House, while Rep. Matt Bradford (D-Montgomery) will continue and Rep. Jordan Harris (D-Philadelphia) will continue on in their positions as Majority Leader and Appropriations Chair. Rep. Mike Schlossberg (D-Lehigh) moves into the whip position, while Rep. Rob Matzie (D-Beaver) is the new caucus chair.
The Democratic caucus team remains in place with Rep. Tina Davis (D-Bucks) and Rep. Leanne Krueger (D-Delaware) as secretary and administrator, respectively, while Rep, Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie) stays on as policy committee chair.
The leaders issued a statement after the conclusion of their voting session.
“House Democrats are committed to continuing our work to improve life for all Pennsylvanians, putting the needs of our communities first. Our top priority remains making life easier for working Pennsylvanians. We look forward to working with Governor Shapiro, House Republicans and the Senate to cut costs for working families, invest in our children’s education and grow our economy.”

Not a single Allegheny County Democrat in the leadership? Really?
Why would Bizzarro still be in leadership? The guy is obviously going nowhere politically. Maybe if he was just true to himself things would be better. No need to be in the closet in the Democratic Party!
I respectfully disagree with your comment on Rep. Bizzarro continuing in House Democratic leadership. In my view, he has done a creditable job as heading the Policy Committee and there is no reason to replace him that I can see. The hearings have been on substantive topics and spread around the state to get regional exposure for local legislators. In addition, I think it is important to have all regions be included in leadership and northwest PA needs to be there.
