PA-Sen: Conservative Group Launches Pro-Toomey TV Ad (VIDEO)

Conservative advocacy organization One Nation launched a $2.7 million ad campaign favoring Republican Senator Pat Toomey on Tuesday.

The commercial praises Toomey’s “Protecting Students from Sexual and Violent Predators Act”, which would require background checks for all school employees.

According to One Nation the thirty-second spot, entitled “Personal Protection”, is set to run from June 14th to 23th.

In the opening scene Toomey explains “when I put one of my children on a school bus in the morning, I have every right to believe that I am sending my child to an environment where they’re as safe as they can possibly be.”

Former Chief of Staff to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and president of One Nation Steven Law issued a statement saying, “Senator Toomey has been a strong, sensible voice for security in the midst of a lot of posturing and noise. His commonsense solutions, like the school protection bill, will make us safer. One Nation is proud to work alongside Senator Toomey.”

Classified as a 501 (c)(4) social welfare group, One Nation is not required by federal law to release their donors’ information and has previously been criticized for “shield[ing] its donors” by declining to release their information.
