PA-Sen: Fetterman Features Family in Immigration Web Ad (VIDEO)

Immigration is a personal issue for John Fetterman.

That’s the measure of the latest web ad from the Braddock Mayor and 2016 Democratic Senate candidate.

In the video, Fetterman highlights his Brazilian born wife and their third kids.

“I was asked, “your wife’s family broke the law what do you think of that’” Fetterman states at one point. “And I said, ‘well I’m so grateful that they did’. Because if they didn’t have the courage to take that step, I wouldn’t have the three beautiful children that I have today.”

The spot also calls out incumbent GOP Sen. Pat Toomey for his positions on immigration.

“Politicians like U.S. Senators Pat Toomey and Ted Cruz are anti-immigration,” it states at the beginning of the video. “John Fetterman takes that personally.”

The campaign goes further along those lines in a statement accompanying the web ad.

“Right-wing politicians have sensationalized the current refugee crisis in the wake of the ISIS attacks in Paris, going so far as to demand the United States turn away those escaping unimaginable hardship and violence,” they write. “Mayor John knows this is the wrong response and it plays right into the terrorists’ playbook. We must stand up to ISIS by maintaining our American values and keeping our doors open. After all, as Mayor John notes in the video, at some point, we all came from a boat somewhere.”

Fetterman is running against former Congressman Joe Sestak and former Chief of Staff to Governor Wolf Katie McGinty in the 2016 Democratic Senate primary.

  1. Rex, Katie also stands for big energy and stuffs her pockets full of their money.

I encourage any sensible Democrat to look into McGinty’s actual background of making millions by pimping her government connections to the private energy industry to make herself a 1%er rather than accepting the narrative her well funded by energy campaign tries to spin.

LOL at Katie claiming to care about the middle class. Shame on anyone who gets fooled by money.

  2. John Fetterman stands for issues and the most vulnerable among us.

Katie McGinty and Joe Sestak stand for getting elected, and more importantly the other one not getting elected.

    Calling it now: Sestak 30 – McGinty 31 – Fetterman 39

  3. This is a good ad, especially with all the xenophobia that the GOP has been spreading lately.
