PA-Sen: League of Conservation Voters Launches Pro-McGinty TV Ad (VIDEO)

Yet another outside group is joining the fray in Pennsylvania’s Senate race on behalf of the Democratic nominee, Katie McGinty.

The League of Conservation Voters and the Environmental Defense Fund have teamed up to launch a $1.8 million campaign against incumbent Senator Pat Toomey.

$300,000 is going to a canvassing campaign while the rest will be used to air a TV ad made by both groups. Their thirty-second spot starts by saying, “Big oil producers? They have a friend in Pennsylvania, millionaire Pat Toomey.” It then hits Toomey for receiving donations from the oil industry.

This is just the latest example of an outside group helping McGinty as the AFL-CIO has also spent some money against Toomey as well.

These outside groups are helping fill the financial gap between the two candidates as McGinty again raised less than Toomey in the second quarter of 2016. She is also expected to have significantly less cash on hand as well.
