McGinty has picked up yet another labor endorsement.
The Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council announced they are supporting the Senate candidacy of Gov. Wolf’s former Chief of Staff.
“When asked if she has what it takes to stand up for Pennsylvania’s workers, Katie McGinty is the only candidate in this race who can point to real, tangible achievements as proof,” said Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council President Frank A. Sirianni. “As Secretary of Environmental Protection, Katie fought for us, bringing good, family-sustaining jobs home to our communities. As Senator, she will continue to advocate for our state, championing smart investments that will support a robust workforce, strong infrastructure, and a brighter future for Pennsylvania.”
“I cannot stress enough my gratitude to the women and men of the Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council, both for their support in my campaign and the work they do every day literally to build our commonwealth,” said Katie McGinty. “In the Senate, I will fight to bring clean, high-tech manufacturing back, rebuild our infrastructure, and expand economic opportunity through job training and apprenticeship programs. We need to create good-paying jobs in Pennsylvania and I’m honored to partner with the building and construction trades so that hardworking families will have the opportunities they need to succeed.”
McGinty is running in the Democratic primary against Braddock Mayor John Fetterman and former Congressman Joe Sestak. The election is set for April 26th.

McGinty is coming in 3rd.
I like that you think all polls should be read as part of the same sample over time. Some of us have been watching pennsylvania for a while, kiddo. Keep telling yourself about all the great momentum for biker gang john. Sestak pulled out his super pac money, mcginty has outside help from all over the place, and the giant has less money on hand than most congressional candidates can raise in a single quarter. Tell him to go for a state office next so his family can use the unlimited contributions to buy him that like they bought him braddock.
dem, considering Fetterman and McGinty were effectively tied in the last poll with Fetterman making significant gains and McGinty dropping 11, perhaps that is the way to go.
Yes, all democratic campaigns should be a poorly coordinated string of big city bar hops with no money or endorsements. That’s how you reach the voters!
LOL at Katie’s “achievements.”
The way the party has propped up this empty suit do as I say, not as I do 1%er should disgust any Democrat.
Everything she represents in this race is an affront to the entire democratic process.
McGinty is toast! Another loss for this loser. Union leaders are a joke and no longer work for their members. Example–PSEA endorsed Josh who took $50,000 from charter schools—supposedly PSEA’s arch-nemesis. PSEA would unionize any group willing to be organized, even brothels, one suspects. McGinty—withdraw now and let Sestak/Fetterman save their money for Toomey.
Katie will kick the butt of Toomey, who hates women, veterans and the poor people.
Polls are going to be meaningless in this race until about two weeks out, and maybe not even then. Rendell could be absolutely right, whoever can lay out the most TV money and carpet bomb the airwaves for name recognition will likely end up being the winner.
hahaha the polls thoughhhhhhh….
