PA-Sen: Pat Toomey Releases Radio Ad (AUDIO)

Sen. Pat Toomey’s campaign is airing a new radio ad today which highlights Katie McGinty’s policies regarding her approval of the Iran deal and the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.

The spot, entitled “Terrorism”, also criticizes McGinty’s support for sanctuary cities, an attack used by the Toomey campaign before on TV.

“Katie McGinty supports the Iran deal, that gives hundreds of billions to the world’s worst supporter of terrorism, and paves its way to nuclear weapons,” the announcers declare. “McGinty applauds closing the terrorist prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, which could bring those terrorists to America. McGinty even supports allowing sanctuary cities right here in Pennsylvania — cities that protect violent criminals from deportation.”

“With our security at risk, Katie McGinty’s extreme views are too reckless,” they concluded.

In response to the similar TV ad last week, the McGinty campaign answered with a rejoinder.

“I never endorsed bringing prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to the United States,” she stated. “Pat Toomey is full of baloney.”

  1. Jeff – this really has become a terrible moment for Republicans. On every level. They are desperate fear-mongerers. And they are appealing to only the most uneducated, unsophisticated people in this country. And it won’t work. There aren’t enough white bigots to carry the day for the Republicans. There are several loud ones though.

  2. Wow, what an awful radio spot! Toomey will get buried in the Democratic landslide anyway, so it’s no wonder Toomey’s trying to scare his way to reelection with an ad that will only confirm what Rs think while ignoring Dems and Independents. He’s still one of the #47Traitors. And as Whistleblower points out, he’s done nothing but sit on his butt and obstruct Obama for the past six years, just like the other Republicans in Washington. I predict a clean sweep from voters voting a straight Dem ticket.

There – I said it. Feels wonderful.
