PA-Sen: Planned Parenthood Targets Toomey in New Ad (VIDEO)

As predicted, there will be political blowback to Sen. Pat Toomey’s vote to defund Planned Parenthood two weeks ago.

Planned Parenthood has begun airing TV ads in the states of several “vulnerable” 2016 GOP senators, including Sens. Toomey, Kelly Ayotte (NH), Rob Portman (OH) and Ron Johnson (WI).

“First Pat Toomey voted to defund Planned Parenthood, risking health care for millions of women,” the PA spot begins. “Now Republicans want to shut down the government to block funding for Planned Parenthood.”

The ad then cuts from a veteran asking who will process his benefits to a woman wondering about her Social Security and Medicare benefits in the event of a shutdown.

Planned Parenthood is focusing its efforts on Toomey, Ayotte, Portman and Johnson after the voted to defund the group. Planned Parenthood will leave Sen. Mark Kirk (IL) alone as he was the only Republican to vote against the procedural move, according to a report by The Hill.

Last week, Planned Parenthood released the results of a poll which found public perception was on their side. 69% of Pennsylvanians said they opposed defunding the health organization, and 42% said they would be much less likely to vote for a Senator who tried to defund the group.

While the vote to defund Planned Parenthood ultimately failed, it has provided fuel for many of Toomey’s – and the GOP’s – opponents over the next 15 months.

  1. Just like the unions, they’re siphoning off taxpayer money and using it to push a partisan agenda. Even if abortion is legal, they should not be receiving public funds.

  2. If Planned Parenthood can afford to buy TV or any type of advertisement for attacking anyone for any reason, then they don’t need my hard earned money any more.

While I’m pro abortion, believe the right of a women to use her God given right to freely choose what to do with her body, their ghoulish practice of even thinking, let alone selling body parts is reprehensible to anyone with a soul and conscious.

Let me restate, this is not about abortion, this is about what they are doing with our tax money, making money selling body parts. Not with my tax money.

How many mammograms have they provided? Answer ZERO!
