Senator Pat Toomey was in attendance for Donald Trump’s meeting with Senate Republicans but he wasn’t eager to discuss what happened.
According to Laura Olson of the Morning Call, Sen. Toomey declined to take questions from reporters and got into a waiting car. His campaign later released the following statement: “Senator Toomey was pleased to be able to join more than thirty other senators in meeting with the presumed Republican nominee for President. While he continues to have significant differences with Donald Trump, there was a good dialogue in the meeting, and that’s always welcomed.”
PoliticsPA inquired as to whether the Senator asked Trump any questions but we did not receive a response.
Philip Rucker and Sean Sullivan of the Washington Post revealed that Trump got into arguments and criticized several GOP lawmakers in attendance.
“You’ve been very critical of me,” Trump told Arizona Senator Jeff Flake.
“Yes, I’m the other senator from Arizona – the one who didn’t get captured – and I want to talk to you about statements like that,” referring to a statement by Trump last year.
Trump would go on to categorize GOP Senator Mark Kirk as a “loser” for rescinding his endorsement and pledged to win Illinois, one of the bluest states in the nation, this November.
The presidential candidate also met with House Republicans earlier in the day. Despite meeting him, Congressman Charlie Dent reiterated that he is not sure he can endorse Trump.
“I still need to be persuaded,” Rep. Dent stated. “I’ve been concerned about the incendiary comments and the lack of policy specificity. That’s where I have been, there’s where I continue to be.”
Congressman Dent also mentioned that one colleague brought up Trump’s remarks concerning Latinos. “He said Hispanics love him,” Dent revealed.
The latest Washington Post/ABC News poll shows 89% of Latinos have an unfavorable view of Donald Trump.

LOL @ the pathetic FOXtard pretending that One-Term-Toomey meeting with a con-man was some sort of brilliant maneuver. Two ayyyy-holes in a room together. Meantime – both will lose to women.
Toomey made another smart move by attending this crucial meeting and not running away. Then he was smart enough to let his leadership actions speak for themselves. Trump is his own man and this is not Toomey’s business but, at the same time, this is a must attend meeting with a Presidential candidate that he had to attend. Toomey showed what a leader does by being at this event and letting the media cover it as they should. Another deft move by Toomey.
One-Term-Toomey doesn’t like con-man Trump?!?
Glad Toomey went to the event vetting Trump (I want a rep who listens to opposition) & happy to hear he hasn’t endorsed Donald.
Praying for a #DelegateRevolt in Cleveland to pick someone who can defeat HRC.
Toomey=Trump lol
Toomey and Trump are both LOSERS.
Charlie Dent is a statesman, not a political hack.
Has #ShadyKatie conceded yet?
