The Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus today elected its leadership team for the 2025-26 legislative session.
The Senate Democratic Caucus also proudly welcomes two new members: Senator Patty Kim (D-Dauphin) representing Senate District 15, and Senator Nick Pisciottano (D-Allegheny), who succeeds Jim Brewster in representing Senate District 45.
The new and returning members elected the following Caucus Leadership Team:
Leader – Jay Costa, Jr. (D-Allegheny)
Caucus Whip – Tina Tartaglione (D-Philadelphia)
Appropriations Committee Chair – Vincent Hughes (D-Philadelphia)
Caucus Chair – Maria Collett (D-Montgomery)
Caucus Secretary – Steve Santarsiero (D-Bucks)
Policy Committee Chair – Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton)
Administrator – Judy Schwank (D-Berks)
“I am honored and humbled to announce that I will be serving as the Leader of the PA Senate Democratic Caucus for the next two years,” said Costa. “I’d like to thank my fellow Democratic senators for entrusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to the fight ahead.”
“It’s an incredible honor to be re-elected as Whip by my colleagues,” said Tartaglione. “For three decades, I have had the privilege of serving the people of Pennsylvania’s 2nd district. I am committed to using my experience and bipartisan relationships to drive forward our legislative priorities and make a meaningful impact in future sessions.”
Collett added her thoughts over Twitter. “I’m honored that my @PaSenateDems colleagues have elected me to serve as the Caucus Chair. I look forward to bringing my perspectives, openness, and integrity that my constituents and colleagues alike have come to know back to the leadership table in this new role.”
“I’m honored to have the support of my fellow caucus members to serve in leadership as Caucus Secretary,” Santarsiero said. “I look forward to advocating for issues that matter to the people of Pennsylvania, like lowering the cost of housing, creating family sustaining jobs and making our communities safe places in which to live, work and thrive.”
