The March unemployment numbers continue to decline for the fourth straight month, falling two-tenths of a percent to 4.8%.
The unemployment rate continues to be above the national average, which stands at 4.5% for March.
According to the Department of Labor and Industry, the civilian labor force increased by 7,000 and resident employment increased by 17,000. The unemployment count declined by 9,000.
These numbers will be welcomed by Governor Tom Wolf’s campaign. The falling rate will likely become a larger part of Wolf’s talking points, that he is bringing jobs into the state.

The Trump economic revival will continue to see more jobs in Pennsylvania. Any and all new non-government sector jobs benefit the state’s economy. Some may not pay as well as others. But at the end of the day, they all put money into the economy.
I note a few critical comments here. So my question to them is: what part of any new jobs for the state don’t you like, and why not?
Maybe they are all pruning apple trees and grapevines now that Mexicans are banned. Vegetable and fruit prices will be way up this year. Thank you Trump.
