PA17: Lamb Talks Standing Up To PACs in 2nd TV ad

Saying no to PACs.

Rep. Conor Lamb (D-Allegheny) released his second television ad of the general election cycle. The 30 second ad titled, “Integrity” shows Lamb at an outdoor cookout with constituents as he explains his reasoning behind not taking money from corporate PACs.

“People ask me all the time, ‘Conor, why don’t you accept contributions from corporate PACs,” Lamb says to start the ad. “And the reason is simple. When I sit down to deal with an issue like prescription drug prices, I want people to know that I’m sitting there for the people of the 17th district of Pennsylvania. And not for anyone else. Not on behalf of the drug companies.”

This ad, playing on a variety of broadcast and cable networks in the Pittsburgh market, is the second ad in which Lamb doesn’t reference his opponent by name, Rep. Keith Rothfus (R-Allegheny).

“This is about integrity,” Lamb says in the ad. “That is the only way I believe we’re ever going to get to a place where people feel that their representatives are actually doing the job of representing them.”

Rothfus has released three ads to date, the first two highlighting protecting medicare, social security, and affordable health insurance, while his most recent ad took a jab at Lamb by attempting to pin him to the progressive wing of the party.

The Rothfus campaign did not immediately respond for comment for this story.

The story was updated to properly label Conor Lamb as a Democrat.
