PA17: Lamb’s 1st Ad Channels Message from Special Election Victory

Round two.

Rep. Conor Lamb (D-Allegheny) has released his first television ad of the general election cycle focusing on fighting outside special interests groups and highlighting his special election victory in March over GOP state Rep. Rick Saccone.

The 30 second television ad titled, “Round Two” begins by showing Lamb announcing his victory for the 18th Congressional district and aiming to build on the momentum for this race against Rep. Keith Rothfus (R-Allegheny) for the newly drawn 17th District.

“We did it,” Lamb says in front of a roaring crowd. “You did it.”

The ad describes Lamb’s special election victory as “the longest of long shots,” in which the Marine veteran’s first Congressional race had to fight against outside money.

“Now, Conor’s running again, and the same outside groups are back with all their money,” the ad says. “So Western Pennsylvania, get ready. Let’s knock em out again.”

Rothfus has released two television ads thus far for the general election cycle. His first ad focuses on protecting Medicare and Social Security, while his second ad touts fighting for affordable health insurance.

Neither candidate has addressed the other by name in the three television ads released to date.

The Rothfus campaign did not immediately respond for comment for this story.

  1. If elected, Lamb will vote the way that Pelosi and the current Democratic leadership want him to. There may be some votes where his is not needed, but if it’s close, he will toe the line. PA17 voters need to understand that before voting for him. If you like the direction of the Democratic party, then Conor is your guy!

  2. Hometown hero against shadowy, entrenched, outside money? You have to admit, the guy has a great narrative.
