State Rep. Nick Kotik, D-Robinson, is already the informal leader of the Blue Dog Democrats, a group of conservative Democrats in the state House. But if the Democrats retain control of the House in the next session, Mr. Kotik says he’ll shoot for all the marbles — running for speaker. He will hold a news conference Wednesday at the Capitol to formally announce his candidacy.
