Pat Toomey Receives Support of American Medical Association PAC and Pennsylvania Medical Society PAC

Pat Toomey Receives Support of American Medical Association PAC and Pennsylvania Medical Society PAC
Allentown – Today in Pittsburgh, U.S. Senate candidate and former small business owner Pat Toomey received the support of the American Medical Association PAC and Pennsylvania Medical Society PAC.

Both Pat and Congressman Sestak met with the Pennsylvania Medical Society PAC to seek their support.  It is clear today that doctors across Pennsylvania believe Pat Toomey will better represent the needs of patients in the U.S. Senate.

Last week, Pat was endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police and by former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge.  Today’s announcement further demonstrates the wide-ranging and bipartisan support Pat’s candidacy is attracting across the Commonwealth.

“As the Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Medical Political Action Committee, I am pleased to announce our support for Pat Toomey for the U.S. Senate,” Dr. Amy Paré said.  “The PA Medical PAC is supporting Pat Toomey because we believe that he understands the difficulty and challenges faced by physicians in providing quality medical care to our citizens.  Mr. Toomey understands the strains and expenses placed upon our medical system by a legal system that does not improve the quality of care.  He supports rational tort reform that protects patients’ rights, but addresses the tremendous costs that are imposed by an adversarial litigation system.”

“I am honored by the support of the American Medical Association PAC and the Pennsylvania Medical Society PAC.  Throughout this campaign, I have made the case for commonsense health care reforms that will actually lower the cost of health care, increase patients’ choices, keep government bureaucrats out of health care decisions, and maintain the high quality of American health care.  I look forward to working with the Pennsylvania Medical Society to achieve these reforms in the U.S. Senate.”
