Rep. Pat Murphy takes a job at Philly business law firm Fox Rothschild

It seems Rep. Patrick Murphy, who lost his re-election bid despite being a hero to progressives and having oodles of boyish charm, will have a place to go now that he’s leaving office: Philly-based business law firm Fox Rothschild.

From the Philadelphia Business Journal:

U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Murphy, D-Bucks, who lost his bid for re-election this past fall, has joined Fox Rothschild as a partner in the firm’s litigation department.

He will have offices in Philadelphia and Warrington.

Murphy, 37, has a few key connections to Fox Rothschild. His wife Jennifer was once an associate at the firm and Fox Rothschild partner Peter Tucci served as his finance chair for his last two re-election campaigns.

Fox Rothschild is also home to Philadelphia City Councilman Brian O’Neill and Montgomery County Democratic Committee Chairman Marcel Groen.

  1. Why is this news??? Let’s face it, Murphy was lucky to eek out a victory in the Democratic wave of 2006. Then when the winds changed back he got spanked. That seat is Fitzpatrick’s for a long time now . . .
